Beaches
In Lagos, the 14km Meia Praia beach often has good waves for surfing.
However, its worth getting a scooter (find good deals around the bus station area, especially LUZCAR behind the Repsol gas station on Avenida de descubrimentos) and discover some more of the west coast, offering better surf.
Sagres is a well known spot for surfing, or further north, Arrifana is a beautiful beach surrounded by high cliff faces.
The beaches highlighted in yellow are your best bet:
